Entrepreneur first, artist second!
I run a viable self-sustaining small business. I’m an entrepreneur, mom-preneur, home-based business owner, etc. The face that my business provides a creative service does not diminish the responsibility of running a legitimate small business.
A great deal of my time is spent on administrative tasks. I order all my own supplies and responsible for tracking deliveries, invoices, and payments. Responding to voicemails, emails, and social media inquiries are how I typically start my day. I send and receive contracts, balance budgets, analyze marketing performance, etc. You know all the non-creative type A stuff.
More Boring Stuff
If my marketing adventures haven’t consumed my “before the kids are home” hours, I get the privilege of doing more “boring stuff, LOL. Pretty much as a sole-proprietorship I am my businesses Customer Service Department, Accounting Department, Marketing Department, IT Department, and any other supportive services required to keep things moving. I wear every hat!
But, I’m a Face and Body Artist
Finally, once all the boring tasks are completed I can paint. It’s ideal that I practice my craft at least 3 times a week. Like any skill practice makes perfect. And of course, practicing produces more work. I love to share my behind the scenes practice with my social media followers. So of course I have to edit videos for YouTube, and edit photos to be posted on Facebook and Instagram!
P.S. I have a 7 day workweek
My weekends are quite different from my weekdays. Weekends are when the magic happens. My weekends are when I’m out doing what I love most, creating living art!
