My journey to bringing smiles to 1,000's of children, and adults!
Each year the block club would purchase liquid paint 😖 and a few brushes and I would paint all the kids from the block I'd once grew up on❤. The designs were pretty simple and took forever but it was so much fun to put a smile on the kid's faces. After a few years of doing this, it dawned on me, "there has to be a better way to do this."🤔
In 2008, my husband and I took a trip to Orlando, FL (kid free) to celebrate our anniversary. We are both "big kids"; the "Happiest Place On Earth" was perfect for us. While exploring one of the theme parks I noticed children were walking around with AMAZING face painting designs. It wasn't like anything I'd seen before. We stumbled upon the face painting booth while trying to find the Mystic Fountain at Universal Studios Island of Adventure. I made a mental note to later do some research so I can learn a little about what they were doing!
When we returned home I scoured the internet looking for the company; trust me 2008 Google search is NOT what it is now, LOL. What caught my eye was the work of the Wolfe Brothers. Brian and Nick Wolfe. I found some of their books and ordered one, next I found a supplier for professional face paints and begin learning more about the products and connected with many other professional face painters.
By summer I was ready to wow the neighborhood kids. I painted butterflies, tigers, snakes, dragons; everything that little kids loved. Everyone was impressed. So much so I was asked to face paint at a friend of a friend's child's birthday party! The rest is history!
